Solvus Global Hosts Major Events for the Cold Spray and Large Scale Additive Sectors

Solvus Global welcomed nearly 575 industry experts to Worcester for two major events discussing advances in Cold Spray and Large Scale Additive Manufacturing.

Jun. 28, 2022, Worcester, Mass. – Solvus Global, a technology solutions provider specializing in additive manufacturing, machine learning, and sustainable materials processing, was honored to host almost 400 attendees at the 12th annual Cold Spray Action Team (CSAT) event on June 21-22, 2022 at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA followed the next day by nearly 175 additional attendees at the inaugural, standing-room-only Large Scale Additive Action Team (LSAAT) event at Polar Park in Worcester, MA.

Attendees at CSAT, representing 15 different countries spread over 5 continents, were presented with two full days of talks ranging from research and development to state-of-the-art industry announcements to special projects revolving around cold spray technology. Participants and speakers from major players in the cold spray field included members from Boeing, Caterpillar, Sikorsky, and the Armed Forces. Students researching cold spray presented 24 posters for a poster competition judged by industry leaders.

Also represented were 14 exhibitors, including SPEE3D, VRC Metal Systems, and CenterLine, who were able to forge face-to-face connections with the end users of their products and services. After the second day of talks, attendees were treated to a reception at Solvus Global and tours of the new Center for Scaled Innovations in Manufacturing (cSIM) facility in Leominster complete with demonstrations of the Bond FSAM and SPEE3D Cold Spray equipment.

The inaugural LSAAT on June 23, 2022 exceeded attendance expectations by more than double, signaling the excitement around large scale additive technologies. Participants listened to 15 talks by experts in large scale additive manufacturing from around the world, then networked during a baseball game featuring the Worcester Red Sox and the Charlotte Knights (the WooSox were victorious).
